3 CASTING CALLS BELOW

SHOOT #1 - Nonunion Short Film 'W.W.A.T.T.'

Have you ever heard of a ONE SHOT? This 4-minute film will be captured entirely in one continuous take—meaning there are no cuts or do-overs in the middle! It’s an ambitious filmmaking feat that only the most skilled cinematographers attempt.

The cast and crew will spend the day before filming rehearsing and perfecting every movement, cue, and camera transition to make sure everyone is fully prepared. Then, on shoot day, they’ll keep filming until they get THE take. How exciting is that?!

Another important note about this film: it deals with very sensitive subject matter, as the story centers around a school shooting. The violence itself is not shown on camera, as the camera pans away during the incident. However, the camera does eventually pan back to reveal the aftermath. So prepare to be bloody!

ABOUT OUR CASTING DIRECTOR, JOHANNA MCGINLEY:

Johanna McGinley is a Columbus-based casting director with a strong foundation in film and television.

She began her career as an extras casting assistant on major productions like Transformers 4 and Batman v Superman, and later spent five years as a talent agent representing actors across the Midwest.

A proud SAG actress herself, Johanna brings a performer’s perspective to her work behind the scenes. Her experience on multiple sides of the industry led her to transition into casting directing, where she now runs her own company, Mime Wolf Inn Casting.

Known for her sharp eye, industry insight, and actor-forward approach, Johanna is passionate about pairing the right talent with the right roles to bring stories authentically to life. She has cast projects ranging from commercials and music videos to independent films, helping hundreds of performers connect with meaningful opportunities throughout the region.

When she's not casting, Johanna enjoys life at home with her blended family, including two teenagers, a Bernese mountain dog named Jenni, a black cat named Kat, and Rowan, her long-haired dachshund and animal actor in training.

Whether working with performers on set or teaching Rowan his next trick, she believes great performances come from patience, preparation, and creating an environment where talent can thrive.
